No continuation of `The Onedin Line' after series one…
All our petitions to NDR…for nothing…it's very sad :-((

I've received the following e-mail from NDR:

Dear Onedin-Fans,

we have negotiated with BBC about purchase more episodes, but
unfortunately without success.
There are no more episodes in NDR program, at least for this year.
Our financial budget is not adequate for purchasing.
We are sorry that we must give this negative reply to all fans.
As a consolation the Enlish original episodes are buyable by AMAZON.
And who want not at all live without the ONEDIN's can refresh his
english knowledges.

I would like to make a holiday trip to Dartmouth and Exeter in the
summertime of 2004. Some German Onedin fans have the idea to charter
an original Onedin tall ship, for example the "Christian Radich", to
visit the Onedin filming locations in England. We all hope we can
realize it.

Currently I have about 100 MB free ftp space by my website provider.
More than enough to upload pics, but not for movies. I'd like to
launch an own ftp at home on a linux sever. The problem is that I have
no much time to do this. But I'll post when the ftp is running.

very fine choice of pics, thanks for the upload! I'll looking for
webspace if the space of this group is full. Perhaps I could add a
protected section only for our shipmates to my website. There's
enough space for such things on my two ftp's 😉

Hi Bill,

thank you very much for your offer to do this.
I can understand the problem, I got the same. Currently I make DVD's
for private use from my VHS tapes. It's a very expendable job, I know.
Because them I've buy a high grade tv card, now I can record direct
from the receiver to harddisk in near DVD quality. Unfortunately I got
only the episodes from series one, recorded since 21.dec. 2003. I'll
hope that all 83 episodes could brodcasted by NDR. They are in
negotiation with the BBC about the rights to continue the series.
Especially I'm looking for the eight episodes, which never was
brodcasted in Germany:

11. Mutiny
12. Cry of the blackbird
17. Pound and pint
18. A woman alone
19. Fetch and carry
20. Yellow Jack
27. Bloody week
39. Over the horizon

I plan to add plot summaries of these missing episodes to my website.
Perhaps could anyone post a short summary.
I would be very grateful and I think the other fans from Germany too…

Good idea, Diana. My favourite character is Elizabeth (Isabel) and
also Daniel Fogarty. Both are great parts and Jessica & Mike are great
actors. Former I was head in ears in love with Isabel… 😉 When I
think about their pathetic love story I can see a part of my own life.
Because I´ve got relatet experiences of life like Daniel…

Hi Diana,

I remember that Peter was the star guest in a music
show in the pre-evening program by HR (Hessischer
Rundfunk – a regional broadcast station) about 1976.

But I've forgotten the name of the show.
He did perform some songs. By then I've never heard
that Peter was a musical singer before he did launch
his acting career. I was very surprised…
I've got a vinyl record from the 70's named "James
Onedin – songs of the sea" by EBAY. Very rare here.

Diana, it was fine if you could post more details
about Peter Gilmore's work in UK and somewhere in
Europe. Because we have problems to get any
informations about him in German-speaking countrys and
German websites.
It's very interesting for our Onedin fans…Perhaps
you could upload some infos to the files section.
