Know many people wrote to Memphis Belle (including me several times).
Most didn't get an answer or one after sending umpteen e-mails..
Still a few months to wait!!!!!
Thanks Jason!!!

jaas08MemberHi,I share your feelings about Leonora.. She's one of the most boring
characters in series 3.Leonora doesn't mind to be "used" by Elisabeth and Sarah.as long as she's
near James…But when you watch further.and this can be tough concerning Leonora, there
will be a surprisingly end of the "Leonora" story. It's a good thing The Onedin Line stopped for 2 years after series 3.

Subject: [shiponedingroup] Miss BiddulphHi,
I discovered The Onedin Line a mere couple of weeks ago when it was
on Dutch television. I was always mesmerized by the wonderful theme
song especially after it had been used in a Dutch commercial for an
insurance company.I was instantly hooked on the show and love each and every character
in it, although some a bit more than others. I have just started
watching the third season (they are on their way home after
searching for rubber seeds) and the one character that I wouldn't
mind toppling overboard is Leonora Biddulph.I do realize I should feel sorry for her with her naive adoration
for James as she seems the typical naive young girl, but what I
don't understand is that the two Onedin women don't really seem to
set her straight where James is concerned. Is it really a matter of "I'd rather have Leonora look after
Charlotte and James' household than do it myself?"Rina

missing episodes and without any cuts, series 2 will be released 13 August
this year.Memphis Belle has released series 1 to 4 in Holland (subtitles can be
switched off), in both series 1 and 2 an episode is missing (Cry Of The
Blackbird and Bloody Week); series 3 and 4 are complete.I've contacted Memphis Belle and they can't give a straight answer if series
5 to 8 will be released; something to do with the rights.I will contact 2 Entertainment and ask if they're planning to release more
series, they have the BBC rights at the moment. The only way to obtain series 5 to 8 at the moment is to find someone who
has them on tape or take a look at eBay..As soon as I've contacted 2 Entertainment and they've given an answer I'll
let you know through the group.Regards,

jaas08MemberHi Scot,The Radio Times Special isn't very rare, it's often for sale on eBay and
they're not sold for much. The actual price was 30p. Knowing The Onedin Line was BBCs success program
early 70s they must have been printed in a large run (can't find how many on
my RT Special).Regards,

jaas08MemberThe DVDs are for sale at Amazon.de or through eBay.There are no cuts and the episodes not aired in Germany are the original
ones with German subtitles (which can be switched off). For all the other
episodes you can watch the synchronized version or the original (not
subtitled). There's a photo gallery and biographies on the stars (all in German).
If you're not interested in the biographies and the gallery you might
consider to buy the newly released UK version (amazon.co.uk). The complete
series 2 (UK version) will be released next August and can be pre-ordered.Marianne

jaas08MemberHi ttenna,Welcome to the group.
Anne also is my fav. character, followed by James and Elizabeth (Isabel).
Do you know the reason why the German television doesn't (and didn't) send
all the episodes from series 2?I don't know why Cry of the Blackbird and Bloody week aren't on the DVDs,
the only reason I can give is that it must have something to do with the
rights. In series 1 and 2 there's also a lot of cutting, series 3 and 4 are
complete on the DVDs.Kind regards,
Marianne
