matzel_2001MemberEnglish or German audio track is directly accessible.
Intro an credits are available only in German in the 83 dubbed episodes.
German subtitles (permanent)and the English intro and credits are available in the eight episodes without German synchronisation (not released by TV in the 70's…
I have uploaded two samples from DVD 1 (Season 1) to the files section.I think the KSM release is quite nice…but too much expensive 🙁

Yes, this is a well known problem. We have a very interesting institution, the "Deutsches Rundfunkarchiv"
(German Broadcast Archive)
http://www.dra.de/.
They have a huge collection of historical documents (movie, video, audio, paper etc., partially digital archived), also old tv/bc equipment.
It is possible to use the DRA as private citizen, but copies are very expensive, pure rip-off.
They also watching Youtube and a lot of interesting historical videos will be deleted immediately…very angry!I think that a related institution also exists in UK. Perhaps the pilot episode is still archived anywhere.

Yes, all 91 episodes. Only the pilot episode from 1970 with Anne Onedin played by Sheila Allen is missing. What a pity 🙁Does anyone know if this first version 'The wind blows free' was released on DVD in other countries?
matzel_2001MemberIt's a really fine DVD release, including different bonus material (info's about the actors, used vessels, episode descriptions etc).
The audio track is available in German and English. The German native speakers are well known actors like Christian Brückner (James Onedin) and Almut Eggert (Elisabeth/Isabel).
The DVD release including all 91 episodes. (8 episodes was never released by German TV).Regards

matzel_2001MemberHi Diana, thank you very much for the info. It is a great pity
that we can't receive UKTV Drama.
A comeback to German tv screens is not in sight as yet
:-(((Regards

Mathiasmatzel_2001MemberJessica is the finest woman I've ever seen and she's a great and
wonderful actress. I think, she's given up her acting career too
soon. She could be a hollywood star. Unfortunately it's too bad and
too late now. 🙁 I believe, she couldn't accept the very hard rules
in this business. I'm sure, she's a wonderful nature and she wouldn't
suck up to the executive floors of the movie business.
I would like to dedicate a special section at my Onedin fanpage to
Jessica.
Perhaps she would be glad to know that she's still a lot of fans.Regards
Mathiasmatzel_2001MemberYeah!!! I'm a great fan of Jessica since I was a teenager.
She's a very beautiful woman and her radiant smile is fascinating! 🙂
But unfortunately I've never seen Jessica in other films outside the
Onedin Line. Perhaps you could capture some pics from the dvd's. It
was an interesting enrichment for my picture section at
http://www.onedinlinie.de
I would be very grateful if you could do it.Regards
