Hello Desmond  ! In answer to your queries :-   1) I have so far only viewed Disc 1 of  the 4 discs and this was of excellent quality–unfortunately, I don't know how to extract a clip from a DVD.   2) The Dutch subtitles on my copy can be switched off.   Hope this info. is of some assistance.   Regards,  Sue

My Series 4 Onedin Line DVD arrived this morning (Thurs. 27th April).  I ordered this via Ebay on 8th April (and forwarded payment for same on that day) from the Dutch company missc_ nl.   It seems to be in an excellent condition and I note that the Dutch postmark was 25.4.06.   I live in Norfolk, England.   Regards, Susan Lee

Did you also watch the Defining Shows yesterday evening on BBC4?

For those who didn’t I like to tell that there was a nice part, about 10 minutes, all about The Onedin Line.

In those economical bad days in the UK , or better say whole Europe , Onedin was something people were looked forward to each week.

The value was discussed and how the episodes were made, Anne and Peter talked about it as well as Peter Graham Scott. It was good to see how well Anne and Peter are these days, in fact they look the same only more than 30 years older.

For those who didn’t watch it…..yesterday was a repeat from earlier this month so it might be broadcasted again. I’ll keep an eye on the programming and inform you when there’s another repeat. For all the Onedin fans this programme is 100% worth to watch!!!!!!

It’s up to you to buy it from this seller but next Monday I have contact again with Memphis Belle and the price will be approx. Euro 20 excl. P&P.

Have just joined the group and read several of the messages–thought you may be interested to

know that both series 3 & 4 of The Onedin Line have recently (i.e. last week)  been listed

on EBay.  I was fortunate enough to win the bidding on Series 3 and am currently enjoying

viewing them.

 

So I'm keeping my eyes 'peeled' for Series 4-  even though my favourite character – Daniel

Fogarty– is not featured !!!!
