I mailed the BBC at this address:
    info@bbc.co.uk

A copy of it is reproduced below, I suggest everyone who has an interest in
this to take a few seconds to do the same thing.

Use my text if you don't want to compose something yourself, do remeber to
use your own name though! 🙂

Re:The Onedin Line – original pilot show turned up at the US Library of
    congress.

I wonder if the BBC is aware of this?

This was screened as a one-off BBC Drama Playhouse production transmitted on
the 7th December 1970. No recording of this was thought to have survived,
now however it appears it has, and there is a copy at the US Library of
    Congress .
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074035/board/nest/170653245

I was wondering what the position of the BBC is, in respect to this
    important part of TV history.

Is there likely to be a showing of this on the BBC at sometime or even just
    a DVD release?

    Thanks,

    W Whittaker.

    Ah!

Well here we go. It seems the BBC doesn't want me to contact them at that
address, and just generates some bot auto-reply.

Looks like I'm going to have to dig around to find some human I can talk to
at the Beeb, shields seem to be up on a personal level.

How different from a few years ago when you got a nice reply off someone, I
suppose the £3.5 billion per year they get off us in licence fees is not
enough to fund some personal attention to its customers anymore?

That telephone number looks like it might be a premium rate one too?

Here's the reply I just got from them:

    Hello, all!

I also just e-mailed BBC about the pilot. So, now it's only a matter of time, and wishful thinking …

    Jolly good!
