samwebster2000MemberThe UFO series is being uploaded to Rareshare.me.
Michael Billington appeared in these before he was in Onedin line I think.
Anyway nice to see him in another role, he is introduced in ep 04.

You can't rely on the quality of the copies (or the person selling them), but mainly it does not show up on the copyright holder's feedback (in this case, probably the BBC) as a sale of their product, which in turn makes it looks like there isn't much of a demand for the series, and therefore the BBC is less likely to release more of them.

If the technicalities do not worry you, and you have a braodband connection then a better possible approach may be to join one of the private sites which share old TV programmes.
One such fairly recent new site is http://rareshare.me , I believe that sign-up is at the moment open, so there should be no trouble in joining.
There are already several onedin line series available there, and it is expected that all will be before very long.
It is not necessary to part with any money at all if you follow the rules of the site.
The quality of the video is, really little different form the DVD they were sourced from.
There is a sample here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4965107/Onedin%20sample.aviAlternatively if you want to you can buy all the episodes on official DVD releases, from places like eBay and Amazon.
Hope this helps.

They look good even on my 50 inch plasma TV, well as good as 40 year old stuff can be.There are plans for the other series to be on there, although for some reason they started with the last ones s7 and s8!

surrounding re-issues of the show might be; unless I'm very mistaken,
it's going to be over the music rights. It would only take one
incomplete or incorrectly filled out cue sheet to stop the whole
series going out. To see just how bad this can get, check out the
furore over the DVD re-issues of The Fugitive, which will probably
now stop after having been the best-selling TV reissue ever. Just
google "fugitive dvd music" and stand by to be horrified. The
bootleggers are cleaning up. By the way, the music of The Fugitive
was recorded entirely in London in great secrecy by the LSO, to get
round an industrial dispute between the studio and American
musicians. What the studio did to get the second series of The
Fugitive out on DVD is too disgusting to describe; suffice it to say
that I will never allow one of the second series DVDs in my house
unless it is to be used under coffee cups or as> Christmas tree decorations. If Pete Rugolo needs a hitman, he
should give me a call.

five-year sales combined and doubled. As a result, you will never,
ever see Dark Skies on an official DVD. Again, bonanza for the
bootleggers.>
