How very, very sad to hear about Peter.
He will always be remembered for being one of the greatest actors in The UK especially during the 70's.
I thank him for all the joyful hours watching the Onedin Line.
My thoughts are with his family.

Dear shipmates!

As I live in Sweden I won't be able to watch the programme on Sunday.
I wonder if there is anyone who would be so kind and record the
documentary for me? If you are willing to help, please let me know and

I bought the first series on DVD from Amazon last spring and it contains English subtitles for the hard of hearing. Hope you can still get it!

Unfortuately you are right.Possibly some of the early BBC DVD series
1&2 have them, but the rest dont or at least the ones i have dont.

Hi Shipmates,
Having read Istvan's email about a Swedish ferry company called
Anedinlinjen I felt I had to give you all some information.
Anedinlinjen is a ferry company which sails to Aland a small island
in the Gulf of Bothnia (the sea between Sweden and Finland). Actually
Peter Gilmore was the guest of honour when the company was
launched.250 people were invited and the company thought it would be
good publicity if they named the ferryline anedinlinjen (it's
pronounced the same as in English)
I have an old Swedish article about it in my files. According to my
article it took place in 1974, at a time when he was enormously
popular here in Sweden.

Hi Bill
Thank you for welcoming me to the group! I was lucky to get in contact with Helga in Germany and she has sent me Peter's music on CD and audio cassette. He really had a most wonderful singing voice back in those days. He made a tour here in Sweden where he sang some of his songs and it was a great success. It's nice to be able to listen to it again in a more "modern" way.
It seems there is not much activity in the group at the moment but I suppose it has to do with if there is a series showing on TV. I have recently bought the latest DVD edition of the first series and found out that they had left out small sequences on my old video tapes. Probably doing so for making space for 4 episodes per video tape.
Has there been a fanmeeting? I think it would be great if someone would arrange a meeting for us Onedinfans. We would have so much in common to talk about.
