19th June 2005 at 6:25 pm #593merligoMemberHi,
I've seen the schedules for June and July and it appears all of
series one and two (including Cry of the Blackbird and Bloody Week
which were missed off the videos & DVDs) are being broadcast. During
June and part of July an episode is being shown each weekday and then
repeated Sunday morning. However, for some of July the episodes
shown during the week are not repeated on Sunday morning – five
different episodes are broadcast on the Sunday. I'm hoping this is
an error in the schedule and all of series one and two will be shown
during the week as well as repeated on Sunday. If the schedule is
correct, remember to record/watch during the week AND at the weekend
if you want all the episodes in series one and two.I think that the July schedule indicated that Race For Power (last
episode of series two) is due to be broadcast on 31 July. The August schedule wasn't available when I checked late last week
but is due to be published any day. As soon as I see it, I'll post a
message advising whether or not Onedin continues into August and, if
so, which episodes are being broadcast.I agree with Bill that if it looks like only series one and two are
being shown at present, everyone should contact UKTV Drama asking
them to broadcast the rest of the series. As it happens I want series one and two to be shown again as I've
only got some of the episodes in full. But I'd certainly like the
other series to be broadcast as well.Fingers crossed!
Not long to go now.

scene from "The Wind Blows Free"? The episode has Anne saying
"…..
poor bedfellows, Captain Onedin", then there's an advert break, and
the episode continues with James saying, "For richer or
poorer …..". The piece re James having "ambition enough for an
army of Napoleons" has been cut.Did any of you notice other cuts? There was one other place which
didn't seem quite right to me, again when there were adverts, but
I
can't recall where this occurred.Diana

VHS because I was trying to get an improved quality over my 20 year old
tapes and save them as DVD-vr.Suppose I'll end up buying the commercial DVDs in
the end!Bill.style="PADDING-RIGHT:0px;PADDING-LEFT:5px;MARGIN-LEFT:5px;BORDER-LEFT:#000000 2px solid;MARGIN-RIGHT:0px;">

and inserting the missing bits from my old vhs tapes. The difference in
picture quality is noticeable but acceptable for just the small sections that
are involved. You were right about the missing material, there is
also a short cut in Albert Frazer's dialog about Elizabeth with James on
the ship. There was approximately one and a half minutes
missing from the transmitted episode. I'll see what subsequent episode are like
when I get around to it but I suspect this will be the case on all of them to
allow the time necessary time for advertising etc that has to be squeezed into
the 1 hour slot. I intend to archive them all to DVD-r eventually.Bill.style="PADDING-RIGHT:0px;PADDING-LEFT:5px;MARGIN-LEFT:5px;BORDER-LEFT:#000000 2px solid;MARGIN-RIGHT:0px;">

pain, I wanted to get the entire episodes on tape. I just hope that
UKTV Drama don't make cuts in the same places as the BBC videos.D
