I believe the name "Onedin" was invented by Cyril Abraham, the creator of
the saga.

Supposedly it was made up from combing the names on the destination boards
on Liverpool busses although I have no idea which routes were involved.

Unless someone knows differently………

Good morning,

There's a street in Auckland called Onedin Place. I'll try to find out where
it comes from. I can't believe anyone would name a street after a TV
character.
Or maybe they would. 🙂
