Hi Bill and Everyone,
My name is Evan ,from Melbourne ,Australia.
I found this group to my amazement ,as the show finished so long
ago ,when i was 6 years of age, that's right ,74 vintage. Now that i
know it's such a great show, i'm not surprised there is still ,so
much interest.
I remember watching with my parents ,but at that age you don't take
much in. Over the years i have stumbled on to an episode hear and
there, on the tv or pay tv but recently i acquired the first series
and that was it! Best show ever. Maybe i have come of age and now
realize ,a fantastic show when i see one. The only sad thing
is ,probably like everyone ,once i see the whole 8 seasons ,that's
it ,no more! I have only a couple of movies i can watch over and
over, and this is has to be one of them. I think for me at least,
what does it for me, is a combination of the excel ant
cast ,especially Peter Gilmore and Howard Lang ,the amazingly elegant
tall ships and heaps of on location\water scenes.
I like the relationships that develop between James and Anne ,from a
marage of convenience to obviously true love at her death. Also the
relationship with James and Baines that develops over time from just
the Mate to his right hand man. I love the arguments between the two!
You can tell James has a lot of respect for him, as opposed to James'
dealings with his family etc.
I would like read any comments people have on these relationships,
when you all have the time with Christmas and all.
