Hi shipmates,
An idea struck me to organize an Onedin fan meeting in Germany or
Holland when I thought about the much entries in my guestbook.
I think, a large international tall ship event event like Hansesail
could give a suitable ambiente.
(for instance at http://hansesail.com/englisch/start.htm, 3.-5. Aug.
2004) Of course, the time is very short by then. But perhaps next
year?
And if we have luck does anybody of the actors accept an invitation
to be special guest…
I've put this idea in the news at http://onedinlinie.de and now I'm
waiting for reply of the German fans.What you all think about this?

Jessica, Mike or maybe Phillip Bond.Re Jessica's age, she's supposed to have been 20 when Onedin started –
don't know if this refers to the pilot (1970) or first series
(1971). IMDb info is frequently wrong and they don't always update
info when you tell them of errors/additions.Diana

When I see that he's time enough to correspond with his fans on
his
notice board, I will believe that.
And I believe, Jessica would accept an invitation too. Anne &
Peter…I don't know. They are already a little bit older and
perhaps
the Onedin Line is history for a long time.Other proposal: We could make a common international Onedin Line
Fanpage in English, Dutch, German and pehaps in more languages. The
first step is done. Of course, I know, we all have not so much spare

HI all,A fan meeting would be great, but perhaps I have missed something , where would it be?However I would love to be a part of it, I am sure Mike would love to join in, he almost never seems to do conventions or anything that involve the Onedin Line. I think it would be just great if Peter and Anne could be a part of it as well, does anyone know how we could contact them and find out?? as well as Jessica, does she have an address we could write to and ask, once of course things are organized?? Next Saturday a journalist is coming to visit me for a Dutch magazine. He's coming to see my collection re. Onedin Line, Anne and Peter. He also contacted Anne and Peter's Agencies because he wants to interview them. I'll ask him how far he is with that and, if he can do the interview, if he will tell them about the group and the meeting next year. I am interested in the fan meeting idea.I think that Jessica will maybe not be involved, she dropped out of the
public eye deliberately.After the Onedin line (I know she appeared in a stage production at
Salisbury IIRC and found it too stressful, you can read about it in the
files section) I believe she had enough of the limelight.Some years ago I found her address in Dorset using 192.com. I wrote asking
about some aspects of the series, I never received a reply. The 'phone
number was there as well but I figured it would be invading her privacy if I
used it. So I did not.I believe that we should respect her privacy if that is what she wants,
although obviously I to would like to meet here some day. We should as a
group be responsible and think how we might feel if the rolls were reversed
so to speak.Bill.
